CALL FOR DISTRICT LEADERSHIP NOMINATIONS

It is that time of the year again – as part of our commitment to fostering leadership and excellence in communication, we are thrilled to announce the official “Call for District Nominations” for the upcoming term.


We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals who are willing to take on leadership roles to shape the future of District 20 Toastmasters. This is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the growth and success of our vibrant Toastmasters community. 


The 
District Leadership Chair along with his committee will receive nominations from active members of District 20 for the following District positions for the term 2025-2026:

  • District Director

  • Program Quality Director

  • Club Growth Director 

  • Division Directors (for Divisions A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I)

Introducing the District Leadership Committee Chair

To help choose our future district leaders, District 20 Director is pleased to appoint DTM Khalid Abdulla as the District Leadership Committee Chair for the term 2024-2025. A distinguished leader who has left an indelible mark on District 20 and Toastmasters fraternity. Served as District Director (2022-2023), Program Quality Director (2021-2022), and Club Growth Director (2020-2021), he exemplified visionary leadership and a commitment to excellence. His tenure as Division B Director (2019-2020) further solidified his reputation as a driving force in empowering clubs and members alike. DTM Khalid’s dedication extends beyond leadership roles at the District, and he would often be seen supporting clubs with leadership roles quite proactively.

Job Functions of the DLC Chair

  • Chairs the nomination committee.

  • Sends out notices for nominations.

  • Ensures Nominations committee understands their functions.

  • Ensures up to date forms and other relevant information on the website.

  • Actively looks for candidates, where necessary

  • Ensures all protocol, policies and procedures met

  • Heads committee during candidate interviews and asks questions.

  • Presents report to Council at DTAC.


The requirement for and methods of appointment of this committee are set out in Bylaw XI (d) and Policy Statement I-14, as well as in the Policies document under ‘District Nominating Committee Procedural Rules VI E 8’. The committee is required to exert itself to implement the principle of spreading opportunities for leadership throughout the District as far as is practicable.

How to Nominate?

The Nomination (via the District Leader Nominating Form) should be sent to the DLC Chair (khalid.a.y@gmail.com) and cc the District Director (dd.district20@gmail.com) on the email by 31st December 2024. Please ensure to include a valid and accurate email address and contact number for the DLC team to contact you. The candidate should be responsible for sending all required information before the deadline (December 31st at 11:59pm GMT+3). Failing to send all required information before the deadline will cause the application to be rejected.

Nominations may also be made from the floor by any member of the District Council or their proxy holder only if the floor candidate meets the requirements set forth in 
Article VII (e) of the administrative bylaws and has been evaluated by the District Leadership Committee for that specific role in that election cycle.

Note: The list of DLC-nominated candidates will be published on the District 20 website as per the timeline given below before the Annual District Council Meeting.
