Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District Leader:
-Communicating effectively in the workplace to make sure everyone is on the same page.
-Maintaining transparency between colleagues and superiors to help solve problems in a more effective way.
-Planning and managing time in an effective manner to meet deadlines.
What experience do you have in strategic planning?:
-Planning the educational progress of INJAZ Bahrain Toastmasters when I was a VPE and achieved all educational goals as a result.
-Planning the success of area 16 and achieved select distinguished status as a result.
-Currently implementing the plans for Division D and INJAZ Bahrain Toastmasters.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?:
I performed several feasibility studies before for a project to see how financially sound this project is through calculating financial metrics like ROI, IRR and NPV.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?:
-Developed several procedures with regards to rigorous engineering calculation
-Developed procedures that makes engineering students easily understand concepts
-Made procedures for evaluating speeches and speech structuring
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?:
-Plan things ahead
-Delegate tasks and do not try to do it all yourself
-I had to manage my time as I had to balance between my work, life, toastmasters and university.
-Always ask more experienced leaders
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?:
As someone who toastmaster transferred his life, I want others to experience the same transformation and I would market well for toastmasters to bring new members. Another objective I have in mind is retaining the current members of toastmasters through club growth strategies and finally for the sake of self development.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?:
To build new clubs and drive clubs towards achieving excellence. As a CGD I will be working mainly towards membership growth and retention through doing several events like openhouses to gain new members and seek members feedback to retain existing ones. Finally, will work more on enhancing the recognition programs which will motivate the members.
Additional Information about yourself:
-A person who always seeks to improve himself in different aspects especially academics, public speaking, leadership & persuasion.
-A very extroverted individual who enjoys connecting with others.
