During all my roles in C2A, I have always believed in the importance of planning in advance. We were recognised by the district for club success plan during my tenure as President.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?:
I was treasurer of my club.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?:
At the club level when I was VPE , I started a 10 minutes special session for every meeting , where someone can come and tell us about new technology, or give us presentation about any particular feature of toastmasters or teach us Yoga or anything. This part was very successful.
After Pandemic I managed to start meetings physical again and was able to run it.
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?:
You need to work towards your goal patiently with a positive mindset and eventually you will achieve whatever you want. Additionally, I also gained insight regarding the power of teamwork, and how it is easier work seamlessly and efficiently in a team, which are evident from our club successes during my term as President.
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?:
As someone who has benefitted greatly from this platform, I believe I can make our Toastmasters community in Bahrain stronger and larger by communicating its positive impact on our mental health. Additionally, I want to strive towards making Toastmasters more interesting by introducing variations in the structures of meetings to generate greater interest in club members.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?:
1. Member retention – meeting structures can get quite repetitive. I hope to improve this by introducing variations to meeting structures so members stay longer.
2. More opportunities for younger people – the creation of more Gavels clubs and also more Youth Leadership programs.
